توقف تطبيق إرسال الرسائل القصيرة واتساب عن العمل منذ عدة دقائق وحتى الآن على أغلب مستخدميه في أنحاء العالم، الأمر الذي دفع العديد من مستخدمي هذا التطبيق إلى نشر هشتاقات متعددة على تويتر بعنوان #تعطل_واتساب # تعليق_واتساب.
وقال متحدث باسم واتساب، أن الشركة على دراية بمشكلة انقطاع الخدمة وتعمل على حلها في أقرب وقت.
ورأى بعض المغردين بأن توقف خدمة إرسال الرسائل على الواتساب شكل أزمة في التواصل الاجتماعي، خاصة وأن التطبيق أصبح من أهم وسائل التواصل بين الناس في العالم، حتى أن البعض هاجم شركة الفيسبوك وهي المالكة لتطبيق واتساب متهمين إياها بأنها عطت أعمالهم وتواصلهم مع الآخرين.
بعض رواد وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي تناولوا الأمر بنوع من السخرية، حيث تم نشر فيديوهات مضحة تظهر حالة من القلق الشديد أصابت مستخدمي التطبيق الشهير، بعد تعطل إرسال الرسائل للمحبين والأصدقاء، واصفين ما حدث بأنه الأزمة الأكبر في العالم بعد الحرب العالمية الأولى والثانية في تشبيه أقرب ما يكون إلى السخرية من جانب، وتهويل الأمر من جانب آخر.
يذكر أن هذا الانقطاع يأتي في الوقت الذي تعمل فيه الخدمة على تحديث رئيسي لتطبيقها، حيث يختبر تطبيق الدردشة ميزة جديدة من شأنها أن تسمح للمستخدمين بتثبيت المحادثات في الجزء العلوي من القائمة داخل التطبيق للحفاظ على المحادثات الهامة في أعلى قائمة المحادثات.
