وتخدم المرأة الروسية في كافة الاختصاصات العسكرية: قطعات الإشارة، والخدمات الطبية، وقوات السواحل التابعة للبحرية الروسية.
والسيدات يخدمن منذ زمن بعيد في القوات الروسية، فمنذ الحرب العالمية الثانية عملت ما بين 600 ألف ومليون امرأة في القوات المسلحة، 80 ألف منهن حملن رتبة ضابط على الجبهات الأمامية وفقا لموقع روسيا اليوم.
وفي العام 2010، بلغ عدد النساء اللواتي يخدمن في صفوف القوات المسلحة الروسية والأسطول الروسي 50 ألف امرأة.
وفي العام 2015، بلغ عدد النساء اللواتي يخدمن برتبة ضابط 2600 امرأة، منهن 72 يشغلن مناصب قيادية.
إضافة إلى 383 امرأة يخدمن في الفرقة 76 الشهيرة التابعة لقوات الإنزال الجوي في منطقة بسكوف.
وبحسب نائب وزير الدفاع الروسي تاتيانا شفيتسوفا، فإن أكثر من 220 فتاة سينتسبن هذا العام إلى المعاهد العسكرية العليا، بينما ستلتحق حوالي ألف تلميذة بسلك الكاديت للإناث وهي مدارس خاصة لاعداد العسكريين.
